Thank you for visiting our Internet site. The purpose of this website is to connect the residents of Macarthur with some of the best Christmas lights in Sydney. And these are right at your doorstep! Our web site is always under construction. This is where we need your help. If you live in the Macarthur district, we need you to help us, by sending a photo of your Christmas lit house. We guarantee to add every photo received, subject to address confirmation and photo suitability.

We look forward to hearing from you. We want to bring the spirit of Christmas to all the residents of the Macarthur area. We would like to encourage any homeowner to make the effort to decorate their house, even if in a small way. The smile it brings to a child's face is truly worth the effort.

The various houses in the photos you see on this page were taken in 2007. This is an example of what you can expect to see in our area this year. There are many worthy houses to visit, the problem we have had is knowing where to look. Many of the advertisers that promote lit houses focus on known houses, and those closer to the city. It may be a long distance for city dwellers to travel to our area, but it's not for us. That's what makes this website perfect for our area.

We began putting up Christmas lights 14 years ago, with a single string of lights across a roof line. Each year we have added more lights to our collection, to achieve the display we have today. The trick to a good display is not in the number of lights on your house, but more about the way you put them up. We have developed a number of themes in our display, which actually tells a story by positioning lights of similarity together.

Many of the lights in our display have been handcrafted. We have Australiana lights which were designed and home made, along with items in our Christmas village. The uniqueness of hand made items makes the display much more enjoyable for your visitors, as you are displaying  items not seen anywhere else. Make your display one that will be remembered.

So put those thinking caps on and hit the shops to buy your christmas lights before stock runs out.                                 And why not enter Camden Council's light competition? It's a good way to make your house noticed and it will give you a chance to meet other light enthusiasts and share tips and ideas. You'll be surprised just how much you will feel part of the community.
